Austin Theory's Ambiguous Message: Is He With The Vision, or Against Them?
M. G0MEZ, a former sports radio anchor with a deep-rooted passion for professional wrestling since 1985, brings a unique perspective to the world of sports entertainment. He provides a fresh take on the industry.
After a five-month hiatus, Austin Theory made a triumphant return to the ring, showcasing his star power in the main event of Raw. Teaming with The Vision's Bronson Reed, Theory secured a victory against the formidable duo of CM Punk and Rey Mysterio. The match concluded with Theory delivering Seth Rollins' signature Curb Stomp to Mysterio, a move that certainly caught the attention of many.
This match served as a pivotal moment for Theory. Earlier in the night, he proposed joining The Vision to Paul Heyman, an idea that didn't sit well with Reed or Bron Breakker. Before the match, Reed instructed Theory to 'follow my lead,' to which Theory retorted, 'You can follow my lead.' He then solidified his stance on Tuesday morning by posting a photo of the Curb Stomp on X, accompanied by the defiant caption: 'My lead.'
Fans showed their support on social media, highlighting instances where Theory had previously lifted the massive Reed onto his shoulders during past matches.
But here's where it gets controversial... Despite the team's win, Theory's position within The Vision seems uncertain. He employed Rollins' Curb Stomp, wore tactical pants reminiscent of Rollins' Shield days, and sported a belt with an 'AT' logo strikingly similar to Rollins' 'SR' emblem.
It's important to remember that Rollins and Theory briefly allied in 2020.
These subtle clues suggest Theory might be playing a double game, potentially taking down Rollins' rivals like Punk while ingratiating himself with The Vision. This could be a strategic move ahead of Breakker's world title match against Punk on Raw's Netflix anniversary show on January 5th.
Whatever his true intentions, Theory is back and immediately thrust into the main event scene on Monday nights. His next move is a mystery, but one thing is certain: he's destined to be a prominent figure in WWE.
