The social activist Wanjira Wanjiru, working in the Nairobi slum of Mathare, observes the stark contrast between the lack of basic amenities for the residents and the excessive resources allocated to an adjacent golf club.

Youth-led uprisings against inequality have emerged across Africa, Asia, and Latin America, with protests demanding an end to corruption, austerity, unemployment, and high living costs.
